If you find this spring frog, you are on your way to finding one cool picture for the spring scavenger hunt. Make sure you take some time to look at this blog before you go onto the next. There are some great entries from our friends in Taiwan! Stay for awhile and learn about the culture and wonderful people at Raey Guang Elementary in Pingtung, Taiwan.

Dear Pen Pal Family:
We are the Telfor Family. Dad is 49 years old, Mom is 48 years old, Katie is 15 years old in Tenth Grade, Matthew is 11 years old in Fourth grade and Claire is 7 years old in First Grade. This is the second year Matthew and Claire have attended Georgetown Elementary School. We live about one mile from school. We also have a little fluffly black and white puppy named Romeo. Romeo is eight months old. Our family likes to go camping in the summer and snow ski in the winter. Matthew loves to bowl and golf. Claire loves to play softball and soccer. Katie loves to hiphop dance and listen to music. The kids all love to do things on the computer! One of our favorite foods is pizza. Please write soon all about your family.

Dear Pen Pal,
Hello from Michigan! This is my first letter to someone outside of my state (other than my grandparents who spend the winters in Florida).
My name is Brianna, and I am in the 5th grade. My school is called Georgetown Elementary, and it is only 3 years old. I have attended that school since it opened. Next year, I will go to Baldwin Street Middle School, where my Mom works. I like my school now, and I have lots of good friends there.
When I am not at school, I like to play outside with my neighbors. We play Four Square, and Kick the Can. During the summer, when we can stay out late, we also play ghosts in the Graveyard – but it has to be dark to play that!
It will be Spring Vacation soon from school, and I will be flying to Florida to see my Grandparents. I am very excited to see them and their dog. He is so cute!
I will be very excited to get a letter from you!
Brianna

Hello Pen Pal!
My name is McKenna, and as you know, I am from America. I live in Michigan; only about 20 minutes from one of the Great Lakes (Lake Michigan). Our state is shaped like a mitten!
I am in 8th grade at Baldwin Street Middle School. I absolutely love cheerleading! I compete on our competitive cheerleading team and work out at a gym during the off season. I play many other sports too. I also play tennis for our school, and I played second doubles this year. I also run track at school.
When I am not at school, I like to hang out with my friends, text people, check my FaceBook, and shop. I also LOVE to read, and my Mom says I devour books.
I can’t wait to meet you!
McKenna

Our sister school, Raey Guang Elementary, has successfully loaded photos, videos and texts to our common blog, BLOGPALS: Schools that Blog Together, Learn Together.
Please visit the blog to see how the students in Taiwan learn conversational English. The examples posted include “How to check out a library book” and “How to explain you are not feeling well.” You can also see photos of students in Grade 6, Class 2. They visit our blogs often. Enjoy.
