If the sun is out on a winter day, we take that chance to go out into the cold of winter. The kids love to build snow forts. This is a picture of a snow “wall” that they built. It was for hiding behind when they had snowball fights. When they throw snow balls at each other, it doesn’t hurt, which makes it a lot of fun.

We love to go sledding at a place we call “Charlies Dump”. Everyone that lives around Hudsonville goes here to sled when the weather is right for it. Some days there are hundreds of kids there, it is so much fun.

If there is enough snow, the kids love to roll up great big snow balls at Georgetown. Each recess they work on it a until it gets really big. This was the biggest one that they have ever made.
We always have fun in the winter but very much look forward to the next season, spring!

This is the weather that we woke up to this morning! We were hoping that the snow was done for the winter. The weather in Michigan is always changing, that is why we love it so much! Now the kids can play in the snow today.

We celebrate Valentines Day by giving candy, cards and sometimes flowers. Our family likes to make our own cards. Both Gentry and Caden are very creative and love to draw and paint. Valentines Day is a nice way to express how much we all love each other.
Do you celebrate Valentines Day?

This is a picture of chocolate covered strawberries. My husband Kirk gave them to me for Valentines day. I shared them with my family, they tasted very good. We will spend the day with our children, playing games and reading books. Tonight we will cook a nice dinner and share stories together. Valentines Day is a day to share with the ones that you love the most!
Wishing you all a wonderful day!

My name is Michele DeWinter and I will be coordinating the pen pal exchange. I am so excited to have this opportunity to get to know you all. Here are a few things about me.
I work as an aid at Georgetown Elementary School and absolutely love to be with all the children each and every day. I help the kids if they have problems on the playground. If they fall and get a scratch, I help them bandage it up. If they need a hug, I happily hug them and wish them better. I have gotten to know almost all the children here at Georgetown and love to be part of this school.
I am also an artist. I paint murals in homes for families just like yours. I mostly paint in children’s bedrooms bringing the room to life with a unique theme of their choice. Girls seem to like flowers and butterflies and the boys like animals and bugs.
I am also a wife and mother of two children. My son Caden is 10 years old and is in the 4th grade at Georgetown and my daughter Gentry is 12 years old and is in 6th grade at Baldwin Street Middle school.
My family and I are very excited to have this opportunity to learn about you all. I look forward to getting to know you better.
I have contacted all of the families that will be writing to you and they are currently working on their letters to you. I hope to post pictures and letters very soon.
Sincerely,
Michele DeWinter
